Single Axis tracking systems is a device to make the module frame to rotate from East to West. It is designed with low cost and to enhance the PV output. According to the data from National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Single axis tracking system can generate 24% more compared to fixed one (tilting 35 degree).
The single axis tracking systems developed by Green source is designed to rotate east and west 40 degree. It can generate 15%~20% more output compared to fixed ones. The design is elegant and delicate, the cost increase is not over 10%, and with low maintenance. There is only one actuator for driving,and the consumption is very low (around 0.5~3A).We have installation in Taipei Tech. University, there are six single axis tracking systems. From the estimation, through March to June of 2010, the efficiency is increased around 18.14%.
Using tracker for efficiency improvement is the trend for commericical solar installations; in 2008, the half of the big scale power plants use trcking systems. Expectedly, in 2012, there will be more than 85% of big scale power plant using tracking systems. Especially for its low installation cost and low maintenance, it will become the mainstream in the solar industry.

綠源科技所研發的單軸追日系統GST120,設計為仰角0度、東西向傾斜 各40~45度的型式,與一般固定式PV系統(台灣地區,傾斜角15~25度)相比,約可提升15%~20%的發電效益,簡潔而巧妙的設計,總設置成本僅 微幅增加不到8%,同時並具有低維護成本的優勢。
整組機構上僅增加一支線性傳動器(Actuator),且電力需求非常低(約0.5~3A)。2010年3~6月在台北科技大學實測(共6組,每組2.76 KW),實測發電量較20度角的固定式PV模組增加約18.14%。2010年9月3日在汐止的單日實測,發電效益最高更高達45.5%;證明了單軸追日系統對PV發電系統具有十分巨大的提升作用。
